How do I Personalize Subject Lines using Merge Codes? - DP
Personalize Subject Lines using Merge Codes
You can add commonly used merge codes to any subject line easily. Include the recipient's first name, last name, or Store Name to personalize your subject lines.
In the subject line of your mailing, just click the ## button in the subject line field and select the merge code you wish to use.
##FirstName##
Adds FirstName, no space or comma. If no value exists for FirstName then nothing will be added, but any space after firstname, for instance outside of the merge code, will appear. Should only be used when all members have FirstName value or at the very end of a subject line where a missing value will not be noticeable. If you are not sure if all your members have values, use ##Global.FirstName## instead.
Example:
##FirstName##: Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!
Will resolve as "Alex: Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient has FirstName populated, and ": Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient does not have FirstName populated.
##Global.FirstName##
Adds "FirstName,[space]". If FirstName does not exist, neither FirstName nor ,[space] will be added.
Example:
##Global.FirstName## Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!
Will resolve as "Alex, Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient has FirstName populated, and "Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient does not have FirstName populated.
##Global.FirstNameWithDear##
Adds "Dear FirstName,[space]". If FirstName does not exist, neither "Dear FirstName" nor ,[space] will be added.
Example:
##Global.FirstNameWithDear##: Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!
Will resolve as "Dear Alex, Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient has FirstName populated, and "Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient does not have FirstName populated.
##Global.FirstLastName##
Adds "FirstName[space]LastName,[space]". If FirstName does not exist, neither FirstName or LastName nor ,[space] will be added. If LastName does not exist but FirstName does, "FirstName,[space]" will be added.
Example:
##Global.FirstLastName##: Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!
Will resolve as "Alex Abbey, Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient has FirstName and LastName are populated, and "Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient does not have FirstName or LastName populated. If FirstName does exist, but LastName does not, the subject line will be"Alex, Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!"
##Global.FirstLastNameWithDear##
Adds "Dear FirstName[space]LastName,[space]". If FirstName does not exist, neither Dear[space]FirstName or [space]LastName nor ,[space] will be added. If LastName does not exist but FirstName does, "Dear FirstName,[space]" will be added.
Example:
##Global.FirstLastNameWithDear##: Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!
Will resolve as "Dear Alex Abbey, Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient has FirstName and LastName are populated, and "Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!" if the recipient does not have FirstName or LastName populated. If FirstName does exist, but LastName does not, the subject line will be"Dear Alex, Come in this week to celebrate your birthday!"
##Store.StoreName##
Adds the StoreName associated with the member.
Example:
Come visit us at our ##Store.StoreName## location this week to celebrate your birthday!
Will resolve as "Come visit us at our Scarborough, ME location this week to celebrate your birthday!"
